Crystals come in many different shapes and sizes. The crystal natural geometric forms and raw crystals hold a lot of the Earth’s energy. However, you can choose a cut crystal shape to help amplify that crystals properties.

A rough, natural, or raw crystal appear very similar to the way they look when removed from the Earth. They will maintain their natural form without any mechanical help even if they have been broken. Some crystals are made into shapes and smoothed out using mechanical and human help. They still hold their energy but can also amplify that energy because the shape it is in. Let’s go through the different shapes of crystals and their meanings.

Crystal Shapes

Palm/Thumb Stones

Long, flat stones smoothed all around. They make good worry stones and stress reliever since they are smooth and you’re able to rub your thumb over it.

Clusters

Groups or cluster of crystal points within one crystal. These are good for placing in an area to direct energy. You can also use clusters to help charge other crystals.

Geodes

Stones that have open cavities lined with crystals. They are great to help you connect with your inner self along with, grounding and internal healing.

Points/Towers

These are tall or short crystals with a flat bottom and a pointed top. They help direct energy toward the direction you want. They are great for intention setting and channelling energy.

Rough/Raw Crystals

A crystals that is in it’s natural form. They can help you with any type of healing work you are wanting to do.

Wands

These are long, narrow pieces of natural crystals. They make great working tools and used for healing or opening and closing energy circles.

These are just a few different shapes and their meaning. I’ll have a graphic below with these shapes and others. You can download this graphic and print out to help you remember the crystal shapes and their meaning.

Crystal Systems

Each crystal is part of a different crystal system. Each crystal system will contain certain properties and will help you when working with these types of systems.

Hexagonal

Crystals that have a 3-D hexagon structure. They also help with manifesting.

Isometric

Crystals that have a cubic structure. They improve situations and amplify energies.

Monoclinic

Crystals that have a 3-D parallelogram structure. They provide protection.

Orthorhombic

Crystals that have a diamond-shaped crystalline pattern. They help cleanse, clear, unblock, and release.

Tetragonal

Crystals that have a rectangular structure. They with with attracting your intentions.

Triclinic

Crystals that have a structure with three inclined axes. They help to contain and ward off energy.

Geometry of Cut Crystals

Crystals also have their own geometry system, meanings, and properties. Working with these types of systems will help enhance the crystals energy and the shape it’s in.

Dodecahedron

Associated with the element of the Ethers and connects you to your intuition and higher realms.

Hexahedron/Cube

Represents the element of Earth and will help ground you.

Icosahedron

Linked to the element of Water and it will help you change and go with the flow of things.

Merkaba/3D Star

Combines all of the elements above and is associated with the energy of truth and eternal wisdom.

Octahedron/3D Diamond

Represents to element of Air and promotes compassion, kindness, forgiveness, and love.

Sphere

Gives the energy of completeness, wholeness, and oneness.

Tetrahedron/Pyramid

Associated with the element of Fire and promotes balance, stability, and the ability to create change.
