If you’ve been following along, you’ve known that I created a series called ‘Creating Your Grimoire’. In this series, I will go over decorating your grimoire.
If you haven’t already, you would need to purchase a few supplies if you’re going to be creating your own book. There are ton of tutorials on YouTube that can help you with creating a book. This is great for someone who is crafty and has time to hand make a book. If your not crafty and don’t have time to make your own book, then you can purchase a book that will allow you to be creative and gives you enough pages for your grimoire. You can look on Amazon for a thick sketch book to fit your needs.
If you are someone like me, who is kind of a perfectionist, then use a thick binder will be better. With this option, you have the freedom to move around pages within your binder. This is great for someone who likes things to be well organized and who likes to work on a page at a time. It’s also great for someone who likes to print out their pages to add to their grimoire.
You can also use a digital notebook as your grimoire too. This would be suitable for someone who is always on the go and who doesn’t have the time to sit and work on their grimoire. It’s easy to add things to your digital notebook that you would save from Instagram, Facebook, or any other social media platforms.
Whichever way you go with your grimoire, you would want to make it your own. You would want to decorate your grimoire that will reflect you and your craft. I do just about everything on my iPad and I love things digital but I also like to scrapbook. So I will have my main grimoire as a digital notebook and have a personal one as a binder or scrapbook. If you like to scrapbook also, I would suggest looking into ProjectLife. It’s a easy a quick way to scrapbook and they also have an app you can download and use.
I’ve been pretty excited to start working on my physical grimoire. I’ve already started on my digital grimoire but I wanted my physical one to be more personal to me. There are some many options and ideas out there for covering books or creating digital cover. You can use whatever you like when covering you physical book. If you need help with decorating your grimoire, answer the questions in my blog post ‘What to add to your grimoire.’ Know what your interested in a go from there. You can be as creative as you want or you can be as minimalist has you want. It’s completely up to you.
You can also add some magical symbols to your book covering if you want. Below are a list that you can include.
- Pentacle/pentagram
- Celtic knot
- Ankh
- Triple moon or moon phases
- Astrology signs
- Element symbols
- Broom
- Cauldron
- Witch’es hat
- Runes or sigils
